Declaration of NJS Compliance Management

On April 15, 2016, we announced the “Declaration of Compliance Management” as given below.

Compliance to laws and regulations serves as a foundation for various business activities, and no business activities can be continued without compliance. We work in the important field of “water and environment” associated with and safety of communities and the trust of the society is essential for our business. Compliance is an essential approach for us to be accepted by society and to continue our consulting services. All board members and employees of NJS are required to firmly maintain awareness of compliance as the first priority value and to act in accordance with it.
Actions against compliance agitate the continuation of business activities and jeopardize the viability of a company itself. In order to absolutely avoid such a situation, we always need to have high awareness of compliance. It is important for us to always pay attention to and understanding laws and regulations, company rules, various standards, and other rules that are applied to each business, and to correct ourselves to prevent violation of compliance. This is responsibility of all board members and employees who engage in the businesses.
We have decided to reestablish our compliance system and promote various measures to thoroughly carry out compliance. In order to do so, we will change our awareness and attitudes. In order to achieve the philosophy of contributing to society in the water and environmental field, in order for every employee to develop into a more excellent consultant, and in order for NJS to realize further development, compliance is inevitable. I, the President of NJS, declare to lead the activity and require all board members and employees to follow it.

Behavioral Standards for NJS Compliance

NJS Ethics Code

  1. In order for NJS and its affiliated companies to be trusted by society and recognized as a faithful and fair company for realizing development, we stipulate ethics codes to be followed by the board members and employees as follows.
  2. We seek to contribute to the creation of an affluent and safe society and eventually obtain the confidence of clients.
  3. We comply with laws and regulations and other social norms, and conduct healthy corporate activities based on fair, transparent, and free competition.
  4. We aim to have an active dialog with society and disclose our corporate information proactively in a fair manner. We also thoroughly protect and manage various kinds of information, including personal and client information.
  5. Approaches to environmental issues are common challenges of human beings. We therefore consider the approaches as requirements for the corporate activities and take actions proactively.
  6. We aim to be a good"corporate citizen" that contributes to the local community.
  7. In other countries, we respect their cultures and customs, and contribute to the development of the countries.
  8. We stand firmly against any antisocial forces and groups that pose a threat to the order in civil society.
  9. We respect the personalities of our employees to realize a safe, healthy, and comfortable working environment.

Major Approaches to Compliance Management

  1. We make all our board members and employees thoroughly aware that compliance is the fundamental management policy.
  2. Establish an internal and external hotline under the Whistleblower Protection Regulations to receive reports.
  3. All board members and employees submit a written oath to promise to comply with the NJS Ethics Code and NJS Corporate Ethical Behavioral Guidelines.
  4. All board members and employees carry an ethics card and always seek to make correct decisions.
  5. We provide training to all our employees on a regular basis to seek to improve their awareness of compliance.
  6. Those who conflict with or violate the compliance provision shall be strictly imposed with disciplinary measures in accordance with punitive clauses (regulations for board members/discipline regulations).
  7. We have declared May 1 as the"day to consider corporate ethics" and to perpetuate the activity.

We oblige all of our board members and employees to carry the"NJS Ethics Card" on which the following declaration is stated, and thereby seek to thoroughly implement the spirit of compliance. In particular, we promise not to take actions that violate or conflict with the Antimonopoly Law and the Subcontract Act, and not to request help and collect/provide information which cause an injustice or doubt in relationships between our customers, outsourcing contractors, politicians, competitors, or manufacturers, and when a violation occurs, severe punishment shall be imposed.

NJS Ethics Card

Declaration of NJS Compliance Management

In April 2006, we reviewed our conventional “Compliance Program” and established the 2006 revision.
Our group’s corporate vision is to become a “global leading company in the water and environmental industry,” and we declare internally and externally that we fulfill our mission, establish our corporate ethics in all of our business activities, and promote compliance management for complying with laws and regulations.

Behavioral Standards for NJS Compliance

NJS Co., Ltd. establishes"NJS Corporate Ethical Behavioral Guidelines" in accordance with the spirit of"NJS Ethics Code." The board members and employees shall comply with and act in accordance with the standards.

  1. We engage in our businesses with a high sense of morality and comply with social norms laws and regulations.
  2. We seek to thoroughly understand the"Ethics Code","Corporate Ethical Behavioral Guidelines","Regulations on Anti-Bribery of Foreign Public Officials","Regulations on Anti-Social Forces" and "Compliance Regulations", and comply with various corporate regulations.
  3. We respect fair, transparent, and free competition, and shall never take actions that violate or conflict with the criminal code, the Unfair Competition Prevention Act, and the Anti-Monopoly Act, etc.
  4. We shall not request help, or collect or provide information which may cause an injustice or doubt in relationships between politicians, our customers, cooperative companies, and competitors, etc. in the same industry.
  5. In cases where we take actions that violate or conflict with the above, we will not object to being subject to disciplinary action in accordance with reward and punishment regulations, etc. Also, in case these actions cause damage to a company, we will accept liability and compensate for their loss regardless of whether a responsible employee in question is in office or retired.

JMA, JABNJS continues to make efforts every day by implementing a quality management system compliant with ISO 9001, an international standard, in accordance with our “Quality Policy” in order to improve our customer satisfaction and become a company trusted by clients.
