Water supply is an essential life line which supports people’s lives, urban function, and socio-economic activities, and is a social infrastructure facility for providing safe and delicious water. For the purpose of continuously achieving this, we formulate various master plans, such as a regional water supply vision, basic management plan, regional water supply development plan, business integration plan, etc.

Approval and Licence Applications

We conduct operations concerning application for approval and license associated with management of water supply and industrial water supply services, such as application for approval of services under the Water Supply Act, notification or application for license of business under the Industrial Water Supply Business Act, application for approval concerning use of rivers under the River Act, etc.

Detailed Facility Design

Water supply facilities are required to be provided with functions which are resistant to natural disasters and accidents and capable of economically supplying safer and better quality potable water, while taking in consideration social situations and needs of customers. We plan water-intake facilities, water storage facilities, water transmission facilities, water purification facilities, water conveyance facilities, and water distribution facilities which are suitable for natural and social conditions of a community, and create design documents necessary for implementing the construction.

Supervision of Construction

To insure that the construction is implemented in an appropriate and faithful manner in accordance with the design specifications, we conduct construction supervision operations such as process control, quality control, inspection, specification conformity, creation of a performance report, etc.

Asset Management

Facility Diagnosis

The whole water supply system ranging from water-intake facilities to water distribution facilities and water supply facilities needs to be functioning soundly, in addition to maintaining each facility in a satisfactory operating condition. In order to enable stable water supply for a long period of time by means of asset management, we evaluate soundness of facility functions in accordance with a precise function diagnosis method.

Renewal Rehabilitation Plan

It is important to improve or renew facilities which are evaluated as getting old or having their function deteriorated. We utilize methods including asset management to formulate rehabilitation plans in consideration for maintaining proper water rate level and sound financial management of water supply facilities.

Risk Management

Seismic Countermeasures

Enhancement of countermeasures for earthquake is an urgent issue for water supply systems. After checking the disaster prevention plan of a community, we formulate a plan for making facilities earthquake resistant for minimizing impact by suppressing occurrence of earthquake damages in consideration of assumed seismic movement and roles of water supply facilities to make the plan align with the disaster prevention plan of the community. Also, we formulate emergency measures for supplying emergency water and quickly restoring water supply facilities, to construct comprehensive measures against earthquake.

Drought Management

Restrictions on water intake and water supply system due to draught are conducted across the country almost every year. Water supply entities which are prone to water shortage due to droughts needs to prepare drought countermeasures in advance in order to mitigate impacts on water supply. We propose effective countermeasures for achieving water supply resistant to drought.

Crisis Management Plan

It is essential for water supply systems to efficiently and effectively to implement emergency water supply and restoration etc. in emergency situations such as natural disasters (e.g. earthquakes, droughts), water quality deterioration, facility accidents, terrorism, etc. We formulate a crisis management plan and manuals for various risk scenarios customized for each specific region for an effective and efficient implementation.

Water Safety Plan

Safety of potable water supply is ensured by developing and managing a water supply system which is appropriate for raw water so that water quality standard is satisfied. Meanwhile, there are various risks such as water contamination accidents and damages by abnormal odor and taste. We analyze and evaluate vulnerability among other things of water source to water tap and formulate a specific water safety plan for advancing water quality management.

Energy Measures

Water supply systems include multifarious mechanical and electrical equipment, and they therefore have characteristics of an energy consumption industry. In order to securely implement energy measures for water supply facilities, we conduct energy diagnosis, and formulate energy-saving measures by means of facility improvement and efficient water operation and measures for introducing recyclable energy such as small-scale hydroelectric power generation or solar power generation, and thereby support construction of water supply system which contributes to global warming prevention.

Measures for Resource Use

Environmental measures are important issues for water supply systems. It is required to take an environmental conservation approach for minimizing environmental load as much as possible by controlling consumption of necessary resources during processes from water intake to water supply. River and Stormwater System

Formulation of plan

NJS implements highly accurate flood simulation in which river and sewerage are simultaneously analyzed. Also, we formulate an economic and highly effective stormwater plan in which rivers and sewerage are combined by means of comprehensive technology for stormwater measures.

Basic Waste Disposal Plan

In order to realize a circulatory society, we formulate a comprehensive plan best suited for a community to reduce, reuse, recycle (3R), and appropriately dispose of waste, night-soil, sludge, discharged water, and sewage. Facility Information System

We accumulate and uniformly manage various kinds of information (construction management, facility management, maintenance and repair, failure history, inspection management, cost, etc.) in every stage from construction to maintenance management concerning various facilities operating in water purification plants, sewage plants, pump stations, etc., and thereby strongly assist rational operation of water supply and sewerage business.

Pipeline Information System

We manage pipelines on electric maps (GIS, CAD) and accumulate information on construction work and maintenance management to support efficient execution of operations. Also, advanced search function will enable a smooth interaction with counter services (call center) for work such as installation of drainage facility.

 

River Management Information System

We manage information on electrical maps such as embankments of rivers and facility information of bridges and accumulate maintenance management information such as inspection/repair of facilities to support efficient execution of operation. We implement precise flood simulation in urban areas by collecting X-band MP radar rainfall information with high accuracy, and distribute flood risk information in real time.

We provide public corporation accounting system which is in compliance with new accounting standards. The system has been revised by adding functions to respond to users' needs.

Fixed Asset Management System

It is a system specialized in asset management of water supply and sewerage business and is capable of managing business characteristics and information on unique attributes. In particular, it achieves combination of information with facility management system and thereby seeks to realize stock management.

Billing and Collection System

This system improves data accuracy and streamlines operations by uniformly managing routine operations from meter reading, investigation and decision of amount to be collected, to collection, and it also improves collection rate by means of detailed delinquency management.
